Q: Tell us a bit about this show, how did it come together?

Daniel: Like most people, we were stuck for a while. When things opened up again, we travelled, to see friends, family and new places. That feeling of seeing with fresh eyes again cafés, parks, airports, rubbish bins, everyday things and scenes in other countries. This show is a response to that. It is made up of objects inspired by the outside world, but filtered through our usual lens.

Emma: We started noticing things again. The kind of details you tune out when you are just getting through the day. A handrail. A shopfront. A colour scheme from a train station in Japan. We tried to hold onto that sensitivity and bring it back into the studio.

This scene in Croatia influenced the Breeze Floor Mirror.

Q: What ties the works together?

Emma: Curiosity. Everything in the show links back to that idea of noticing. Some pieces are more literal, references to specific places or objects we saw. Others are abstracted. But the thread is about re engaging with the world, one detail at a time.

Daniel: Also a sense of play. These works are not heavy or didactic. They are made with joy, and they are meant to feel open. They are not about telling people what to think, they are invitations to look, or to remember.

Q: How do you want people to feel when they walk through this exhibition?

Emma: Hopefully lighter. Curious. We want people to feel like they have just looked through someone else’s travel photos, but in 3D and instead of landmarks, it is objects inspired by odd textures and overlooked corners.

Daniel: Or like they have just been nudged. Like, hey, remember the world is weird and beautiful, and you are allowed to enjoy it again.
